Good to still see some familiar names here. I haven't posted since I bought my Victory in the fall of 2000.
Back then I decided to hang on to the '87 Savage I'd bought that July. Lately I've been entertaining the idea of selling it, since it doesn't look like my girlfriend will ever get time to take a beginner course. (No WAY would I attempt to teach her to ride...)
Had to put the Vic in the shop a week ago; it probably won't be ready for at least another week (REAL busy shop). So with the gorgeous weather on Saturday, I decided to un-mothball the Savage. Turns out I'd forgotten to add stabilizer to the gas tank when I stored it, so I had to tear down and clean the carb. Also had to get a new battery. But...
Whoa. I'd forgotten just how much fun this little sucker is. Cramped, yes. Pain in the ass to work on. But real perky (I'd put on a Supertrapp, pulled the white spacer, and tweaked the mix screw shortly after getting the bike). Just... fun. Guess that's why I managed to put 3K on it between July and October 2000.
Sell it? Nahhh...
